MoM goes to the Italian Stallion, the Jewish Rocky - Chris C for his bullets that rained down on the Whites goal.

On a cold and misty night a see-saw match played out on Pitch 11. Game started at a medium pace with the scoreline going backwards and forwards....Colours taking an early 2 goal lead but whites fighting back quickly.
The game was set-up with the Colours power players of Amit, Chris C and Vish providing a solid base from which the guile of Sam and the pace and strength of Simon could create chances. Whites coutnering with the calm of Aman and Rush, industry of Sunny, the vision of Nanak (returning after months out) and the movement and skill of Dimi.
The game remained tight for a while till the Whites constant movement were able to take a lead of 2 goals. Sunny taking chances, Nanak pulling the strings and Dimi setting up play up top. Colours being marshalled by Amit regrouped and started to press, Whites building a wall deep in their half making it difficult for Colours with defence in numbers being the key to shutting out Colours attacks as Whites constantly giving the ball away. But then, from no whre, Chris C unleashes the fury, right foot left foot and after a few exchanges colours are level again and slowly get a lead.
Whites respond again drawing level after lax defening from Sam and the game goes into the last 10 minutes evens. Colours draw strength and Simon has a few chances in the the dying minutes, one he completely misses, spins round and stacks it, in Canada that would have been a 4.5, 4, 4.5, and 3 (dodgy Chinese judge) but on Pitch 11it was a missed chance. However in the dying minutes, through ball to Simon, he calmly strokes it in to make it a one goal lead which the whites couldn't level.

MoM - Sam

The way the game started the MoM looked like it was going to one of the Whites. Barnor, Sunny, Rajesh and Dimi causing havoc upfront with Rush holding strong in the centre. With 3 wonderfully executed Brazilesque goals the White's confident start proved to be their undoing.

The game was reminiscent of the Milan/United game played that very night. If you don't finish your chances then you will reap the whirlwind! And it came in the form of Chris' right boot defying the laws of physics and smashing a 2 identical goals from an angle that looked like some Cirque de Soliel shit! "HOW THE FUDGE DID HE DO THAT?" was on the minds of whites and his colour team mates! With a rattled white team the colours smelt blood in the water and Sam took the mantle of general and led his men to finish off the whites who started to take their frustrations out on each other.

Vish and Simon made it hard for the Whites to complete their remaining attacks with Sam and Aman pressing forward producing goal after goal. Whites did fight back but it was futile. Time was against them and a quickened Colours weren't gonna lose their mojo as the whites did holding off til the lights dimmed and win was assured. If this was Braveheart then Sam would be Mel Gibson covered in blood raising his sword screaming in victory, thus he claims this weeks MoM!

MoM….very hard this week. No real stand out performances. I’d give it to myself if I could but instead I think it should go to Dimi, who provided a real threat up front and worked hard for the team in defence

With a bitter wind blowing across the Mill Hill Power League pitches, the two teams kicked off what would be a very tight match. Whites started exceptionally strongly, with the old Highgate crew clicking into gear from the get go. The Barnasaurus was back to his domineering best and systematically broke down all colours attacks, with Dimi and Stas providing the attacking cutting edge. Before even a goal had been scored, we saw the first crunching tackle of the game, straight out of the Jamie Carragher book of defending. Amit burst (I use that term quite loosely!) clean into the whites half with only the keeper to beat, when seemingly out of nowhere came a last ditch tackle from Stas to toe poke the ball to safety. This led to a Martin Taylor-esque follow through, which left Stas reeling. This seemed to only galvanise the whites and they turned on a fantastic display of attacking football which saw some beautiful goals hit the back of the net.

As has become the norm however, colours battled hard and came well back into the game. With Sam orchestrating their play from the back and Amit marauding around in defence and keeping things tight, the colours showed they were more than capable of getting something from the game. Jimmy unleashed a couple of firecrackers from that right boot and Rajesh ducking and weaving his way through the field, caused all sorts of problems, leading Dimi to fire the ball into his own net to pull the scores back to level pegging.

With no more than a 10 minutes left of the game, whites seemed to find an extra gear, and pulled the game back in their favour with a fantastic team goal, finished off with a rare calm and measured finish from Sunny (one for the scrap book!).

As the lights went out, Whites had a two goal lead but after such a good game, we all walked away winners! ;-)

DRAW - 10 all

MoM - Stas. Been knocking on the MoM wall for a few weeks but thought he edged Manu. Good running as usual. On the scoresheet as usual.
Decided to motivate/encourage and LEAD not usual. Therefore MoM

What. A. Game.
When we got on the pitch and Stas was greeted with the withdrawal of Aman he said to me "Rush, I thought we were weak beforehand, I think we're weaker now".

Stas hadn't obviously played with Mr "I come into my own in the last seconds of the game, muthaf#cka" Jimmy Liang.

Anyhoo back to the game. Whites with the "destroyers" Vish and Simon started v well and played with a tempo and a urgency that (a) caught Colours flat and (b) showed they wanted a "W" more.

Stas and James linked well and Rush knocked the ball sideways with customary ease. The lead was 4-1 when Manu issued a rallying call to his troops and Rush started to do his Manuel Almunia impression by letting in 2 howlers.

Vas, Rajesh and Amit started pressing more and more, finding space and openings and before you knew it Colours had taken a two goal lead. 6-4.

Then a miracle. The usually vociferous Stas started to motivate and cajoul the Whites into pulling the finger out. Maybe Manu's leadership skills were starting to rub off on Whites' nĂºmero uno.

Vish began to do what he does best. Plonked himself as far away as possible from shooting opportunities and snuffed out any danger at the back including one "Adamseque" tackle on Dim. Bet the c#nt felt that!!

Stas levelled matters with a bullet shot from a neat pass back from Rush and it was game on. 7-7.

Then we had the "Manu and Dimi show" with Manu attempting to get every ounce of energy from his Team and Dimi turning on his je ne sais quoi magic with a couple of neatly taken goals. Colours were 10-7 up with
8-9 mins left.

Whites were beaten and although their heads had not dropped Colours had their eyes on the LPR. Simon pulled one back with what seemed a consolation but then JIMMY LIANG.....

One gun. 2 bullets. 2 goals. Lights out. Game over. 10-10.

What. A. Game.
