The way Colours started with James' bullet shot in the bottom left hand corner in the first few minutes did not bode well for Whites. However with the Wops/Bubble showing telepathetic understanding Whites hit back with 5 memorable unanswered goals including a bullet volley from Mone that nearly took off the head of Colours' keeper.

Colours then hit back with sustained pressure but little end product. Nevertheless it seemed as if Whites had emptied their load in the 1st 20 mins and Colours chipped away at the lead until they were 1/2 down. Dimi continued to lead an one man assault and single handedly kept Whites ahead but there was some phenomenal keeping from an injured Stef that saved Whites' bacon to be honest.

With a little less profligacy in front of goal Colours could have snatched victory in the end but Dimi's powerful running and accurate shooting ensured a MoM award and victory for his team.

Rematch but comfortable win for Whites by 2/3.

Flashpoint was Dimi's tackle on Aman that upending and left him in a crumpled heap and caused Nav and Stas to throw their toys out of the pram. Nav defending his brother and Stas defending his idol Dimster. Amit then bowled in "A Touch of Class" stylee and clipped Stas around the ear before some more histrionics.

Once things calmed down, Whites got into gear playing some calculated percentage football and kept the blood-thirsty Colours at bay. Stas put in a shift in and a half controlling the tempo and Sunny/Sam's burst of high-octane energy on a truly ball-freezing night ensured victory.

All in all - another top game mared by an unfortunate but thoroughly entertaining tete-a-tete!

PS I really enjoyed my placed "clip" in the top left hand corner!

Well well well - where to start. Let's get the obvious out of the way. Dimi is a proper cunt. And Dimi is a cunt.
Never have I seen bitching from such a cunt in my life. Ok he gets fouled. Call it and get on with it. Don't have some brain explosion and lose the plot.
Anyways once Sam put Dimi in his place, he capitulated and was never the same. Whites collectively blamed his childish tantrum for their loss. Conclusion Dimi is a cunt

One for the diary: Stas got more assists than goals. He realised that by passing to his team mates…his team scored more goals.

MOM: tough one…but would have to give it to Sunny

Special mention: the Indian bird on pitch 10 with the orange shorts..who forgot her sports bra….was Nav’s excuse for missing so much he was too busy watching her t1ts go up and down…

The whites dominated early exchanges and getting into an early 5-0 lead…led by goals from Amit and the Mone-ster….who had the game of his life (or atleast of the this decade/millennia). Some nice intricate play between whites early on esp. between amit/mone/stas looked like the beer/wine/champagne/rum/whisky they were sipping in Athens had created a clear bond and understanding. Add that to the energy of Sunny and Aman watching the girls 5 a-side game on pitch 10 and whites were worthy of their lead as they dominated the first 15mins

The colours finally woke up and started to play. With their passes starting to find the feet of their team mates. Had it not been for some poor finishing from the colours, esp from the otherwise “clinical” Twinkle Toes Nav who was missing for fun, they could have easily had the score at 5-5 esp as Amit and Mone showed signs that the beer was still in their system. However, the best they got was to bring the score to 7-4 and just as colours were in the ascendancy Mone decide to hit one from distance that went through two players and dipped at the last second to beat the keeper and push the momentum back into the hands of the colours. Followed by sunny nicking the ball from jin right in front of the colours goal and sliding the ball past the keeper to resume order and the 5 goal lead.

For the last 20mins of the game the colours pushed hard to try and get back in the game but with little effect as the whites defended well and kept good possession of the football. with colours being forced to make mistakes and there earlier clinical passing falling away. At times it seemed as if there were 2 Sunny’s on the pitch. There were a couple of injury scares as Glass Ankles Stas got a tap on his ankle from Rajesh and the scream that followed sounded like he had just received a bullet in his ankle only for him to joke away waving the imaginary yellow card….then there was the tangle of legs between Amit and Rajesh which end up with Amit getting a kick to the back of the head as Rajesh fell to the ground…and finally there was a clash of heads between Sunny no 2 and Rajesh…which left both clutching their heads and counting the yellow chicks circling….note the common denominator.

All in all a good game. With Jin making his debut in tues night footie. Generally below par performances from each member of the colours and good performances all round from the whites.

Whites 5 - Colours 5
MoM - Ravchester

Whites started as the superior team, going two up within the first 5 mins after some slick one two passing with strong running from Rajesh. However, the early joy was short lived as colours started to come back into the game. Game plan was obvious for both sides with whites having a solid amount of possession but struggling at times to get thru the wall that was the colours defence.. Going forward with the brown panther shackled well the colours looked to the unlikely source of Amit with a few long range efforts (one of which smashed the top corner of the net). Lucky I didnt say out aloud what I was thinking – ‘let him shoot from there its only Amit’!

Game moved on with score swaying back and forth. However, towards the middle of the game whites started to extend their lead and looked pretty comfortable at times.. Stas holding the ball up well and black star hanging in the channels distracting the colours. Sunny and Vas were then able to exploit the open space in the middle to good effect..

Then out of nowhere the colours started to make an unlikely comeback.. first with a penalty well tucked away with conviction by Nanak and then a toe poke (which I thought was a pass) by Ravi.. leaving little time for the whites to retaliate.. Vas failing in his attempts to score a Ravi-esque ‘lights out but I can still score’ finale..

The night of the Panther’

Match Report
The first 6 –a-side game in a few weeks and as always a tight affair. Generally speaking these matches tend to be tight with less space to play and little margin for error. Tactically a more interesting game in how to play with the extra man.

Pre-Match
Well after the Lawyer got nabbed at 5.45 to do some after-school ‘work’ which no doubt involved baby oil and some leather implements with the Lawyer boss the Karate Kid was summoned from his dojo in Godlers Green to come down (inevitably 10 minutes late) to step in.

Main Match
Once KK turned up we were up to a full compliment, conveniently scores tied. Colours started the stronger of the two teams, with a solid back 2 of the Scouse alongside the I-tie, with Guarav, Stas and Sunny buzzing ahead of them. Whites knew what to expect, which was a lot of movement and pace but the whites kept firm with a much more fluid style of play with players rotating positions in the old Dutch philosophy of Total Football. Whites managed to defend their goal with whoever being in goal playing like that Real Madrid Chap keeping the colours at bay through various attempts at goal. Eventually colours struck through some neat passing and slotting away a one-on-one. With the extra man the time needed to pick the pass or take the shot a lot harder than normal the was game poised at 2-1 and turned into an epic battle with waves of colour’s attacks repelled by whites absorbing pressure and trying to counter. Chances came to both team but no one able to capitalise.

But then, colours walked straightinto the whites game plan, they went 3 up. Couple of well placed passes by the whites giving the colours the opportunity to score 3 in quick succession culminating in the I-tie smashing a trademark 1/10 on- target shot to make it 3 with the whites having parted like the Red Sea to allow it in. We are all relieved to see fatherhood hasn’t made his shooting more accurate. With the colours giddy from their goals, the whites were able to put the second phase of their predetermined plan into effect.

First Step in plan – Get the rhino mad – letting 3 goals in, as the White’s management Structure knew, get the Rhino mad and when the Rhino is mad, he charges, when he charges, you get out of the way, tactically what does this do? Nothing really, just good to watch!
Second Step in plan – Exploit the Back 2 – with the passmasters at the back, Rhino running through walls, whites started pinging in balls to the top 3, whites were able to pin the colours back into their half, Intricate play and ball retention slowly bringing more chances with Jay and Nav running round their markers and the panther looking menacing up top interchanging with the on-coming Lawyer Mk2
Third Step in plan – Score some goals – the most crucial and to some the blatantly obvious step in the plan, the whites started to score. With the Panther prowling deep in colour’s territory unmarked, Navaldo was able to slot a ball through for the Panther who left a deft Paw to divert the ball in. 2 down. The next 2 goals are a blur but it involved some passing, some shooting and then some scoring and the colours crying. Colours were now owned. The Panther decided to come down from the trees and play from deep, he picked up a sideways pass on the left wing, came inside laid it off, got it back, snarled at Sunny, looked up and with a low backlift, laces first, sent the ball back into the 16th century. 1 up, lights out, colours down. Happy St Patricks day!

Man/Cat of Match
Some say he is descended from the great Mayan race from which his name is derived, others say his powerful right foot was trained kicking coconuts falling from palm trees in the Peruvian forests, but others just call him Sam and tell him stop being a c0ck use a proper name! The Brown Panther was nominated as MoM after his match winning 15min burst at the end of last night's game.

Draw!

Whites: Sam, Nanak, Jay, Mungara, Anil
Colours: Amit, Manu, Rajesh, Guarav, Vish

M.o.M: Close one on the whites but it has to be the Mungara, they say the Black Rhino is close to extinction, but last night the conservationists needn’t worry, there was one running around on Pitch 11 causing mayhem and destruction

On another cold night whites showed how less can sometimes be more with a fine display of counter attacking and zonal defensive play. Game started slightly late as per usual but got going with goals being exchanged between the two teams with the whites slightly ahead on play. Colours seemed a little laboured and slow at times and gave the ball away a little too often. With ‘The Lawyer’ back in the game after a 3 month absence his so called long hours in the office didn’t seem to affect his shooting ability helping to put the whites in the lead.

Then came the turning point, Hatchet Man Gaurav biting at Jay’s ankle (literally) putting him out of action. Wasn’t the Hatchet Man involved in his first injury, we will never know!? “It’s a sad day when Kenyan Gang warfare comes off the Nairobi back alleys and onto our football pitches.”

With Jay off at the half way stage of the match the whites knuckled down with a 3 goal advantage. Using a sliding 3 man defence and the Rhino patrolling at the back, the colours grew increasingly frustrated with the missed and fluffed chances in-front of goal. New boy Anil played well, being promoted from the excuse of a football game on Pitch 10 he joined the big boys and slotted in well keeping the ball and using insightful passes in tight corners to put the colours on the back foot. (That said it must be a family trait to take 10 touches before looking up to pass the ball.)

The colours came into the game as the whites tired, slowly regaining the lead through 3 unanswered goals. But this point they should have gone on to kill the whites off in the last stages but stray passes really let them down. With the last 10 and colours one up, Hatchet Man made the fatal mistake of not getting the ball to safety and from a tight angle Dead-Eye D1ck (for the past 2 weeks anyway) managed to slide one in. Colours came straight back into it and got themselves one up again moving the ball about and creating the extra man in front of goal. As the other pitches were winding down and the lights fading around them, the whites never gave up, in the last few kicks of the game, the Rhino rampaged up the right wing, leaving bodies behind like mangled wrecks in a junkyard. Swing of the right boot and in it went. Whites level, game over!

MoM - Sam

Playing conditions had to be the coldest in the history of tuesday football. There was no time for pre-game chit chat/ banter, it was straight into the game to survive the cold.

Colours seemed the stronger on Paper. But after last night just ask Derby county if that really matters. With some help of the opposition, whites got off to a flyer. scoring 4 goals very quickly, 3 of which were either deflected or own goals. it seemed the gods were on whites' side that evening, and colours were in for a hammering. However, this only angered colours who came back stronger. Amit/ vish marshalled the defence well and mungara + sunny, the energiser bunny, kept finding spaces in the whites' defence. They clawed there way back and went 1 up with the help of some clinical finishing by Sam. While colours were looking like they were going on to win, Rush + Nii, the more experienced members, restored faith for the whites. It was a close battle from here on, the gap never wider than two goals. Some good teamwork + patient play from the whites, allowed them to take back the lead and see the game out. whites win by 2!

highlights include:

- mungara's awesome piledriver from his own half into the bottom left corner

- Rajesh's last ditch tackle on Sam, surely saving a goal and resulting in Sam saying " where did he come from?"

MOm - Sam - Although on the losing side, def had his shooting boots on!

Amit, remembering your pre-match comments...its seems your unbeaten run in 09 is over!
